Gary Penar has been an attorney for over 40 years, with 22 years of that focused in Social Security disability law. Gary’s father had a heart conditions and physical limitations, but that didn’t stop him from working hard, and then unfortunately paying for it in pain & inability to work later. This inspired Gary at a young age to want to help disabled people in some capacity, obviously not knowing he’d spend the better part of his career helping disabled people fight for and win the Social Security disability benefits they deserve.

Attending law school brought Gary to Spokane, where he attended Gonzaga Law and graduated with his law degree in 1977. Gary is also a former member of the Air National Guard. Having been a Spokane resident since 1974, Gary has embraced the Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer, spending his free time skiing in the winter, camping, and being an active participant in Bloomsday for 42 years, coincidentally the same number of years he’s been married to his wife, Janice.

Gary helped shape his son’s values when it comes to assisting those in need. Eric Penar was born and raised in Spokane, worked and completed his undergrad in Portland, Oregon, and then returned to Spokane to work with Gary before attending law school. Eric graduated cum laude from law school in Phoenix, Arizona before returning to Spokane to further his career and passion for helping people get the benefits they need to pay bills, receive medical treatment, and help change a life for the better.
